TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
Trinidad & Tobago is arguably the Caribbean capital of carnival, steel bands, calypso and limbo dancing.
North-east of the South American coast and south of Grenada in the Lesser Antilles, Trinidad, Tobago and 21 smaller islands host the oldest settlements in the Caribbean, with proof of early tribes enjoying their beautiful beaches 7,000 years ago. A happy mix of different cultures gives the islands an air of excitement, and when the locals aren’t “liming” (talking for talking’s sake), they’ll be discussing, watching or playing cricket… with a rum, of course.
Trinidad is only a few miles from the coast of Venezuela, and its climate is very similar, with a wet season from June to November. Temperatures are a little higher in Trinidad than in the Caribbean islands farther north.
